Bethany Chase is a Training and Consultation Specialist for the Employment and Transition projects at The Boggs Center on Disability and Human Development. Dr. Chase provides training, consultation, and education to professionals, advocates, and families on best practices regarding supported employment, meaningful day, and transition to adulthood. Additional areas of focus include family and parent support strategies, sexuality and sexual rights of people with disabilities, transition program development and evaluation, and state and federal disability policy. 

Some of Dr. Chase’s notable achievements include continued state and national conference presentations, multiple peer-reviewed publications, and several Boggs Center publications including a resource to empower self-advocates to evaluate college and post-secondary education programs critically and meaningfully, which has been promoted by various organizations nationwide.

Prior to her work at The Boggs Center, Dr. Chase spent over a decade as Chair of the Transition Department at the Cooke School and Institute in New York City. In this capacity, she assisted hundreds of students with developmental disabilities and their families as they charted paths towards independent, meaningful, and purposeful lives of their choosing.

Dr. Chase received her doctorate from Rutgers University School of Social Work, her master’s degree from Columbia School of Social Work, and her bachelor’s Degree in Music, with a major in Music Therapy, from Berklee College of Music.
